Happy Friday!
Whenever someone mentions first birthday photos, my next sentence is always.. CAKE SMASH! This time I'm pretty sure it was Lauren's suggestion and I'm so happy she came to the studio to bring her ideas to life!! Little Miss Bailey Breeze knows exactly what a camera is and how to shine for the photographer! Makes my job so easy! She did four outfit changes without a fuss! Side note: for her newborn session I think we did 6-7 different outfits/looks... shes a PRO!
We decided to do another cake smash at her 21st bday.. maybe include some bay breezes! Thanks for bringing all your awesome props, Lauren! Can't wait until your next idea :)

I just bought a Canon Fisheye 8-15 lens... there will be an overflow of wide angle fisheye shots for a few months :)

This is Jacques... Oh and his parents, Aubrie and Brandon!! This pup's mom and dad are getting married 9•26•14 at The Gables at Chadds Ford. I have the honor of photographing their entire day!
I'm not sure if I was more excited about including Aubrie and Brandon's adorable french bulldog into their engagement session or the color powder fight we were going to have at the end! Its always a great shoot when your clients are game for getting messy!
We started with a simple formal/casual look. Then switched it up to white shirts to do the powder fight. This is a small selection of images from today. I couldn't possibly go to sleep without sharing a few ::insert big happy face here::

I've started to notice a new found love for making things match. Things like; gift wrapping, pillows to accent colors, kitchen rugs to dish towels, or outfits to decor!
Normally, the very first FAQ I'm asked after I schedule a family session is "What should we wear?" To which I reply; 1) Which room in your home to you want to display these images? 2) What is that rooms accent color? 3) No accent color? Lets pick one!
I highly recommend introducing your accent color to the color pallet for your clothing! For example: This room.. my inspiration for color coordinating the families outfit would be these blue pillows!

Look how great this looks! Thanks to thelennoxx.com for the beautiful room view!

Everyday that I don't have to pack my car and travel for a session (which normally included 30-40 minutes in setting up) I feel more relieved with our decision to run my business from our home! For this maternity session we had the plan to do two different looks. One a neutral collection of clothing with jeans for the pant. The other bringing a fun theme look with a sports jersey, a painted belly, and no kids!
This mommy (expecting April 21st) was more than happy to let me stylize her shoot. First we went through the clothes she had at home.. looking for items that we could layer and still follow our color pallet. After checking out her closets we needed just a few items; a jean jacket for her daughter, a white button up for her oldest son, and tan item for her middle son. A quick run to the local strip mall and we found everything! With our looks complete we photographed together a few days later and this is what we did...

When Dominic's mom signed up for her Little Session she mentioned she wanted an Easter themed background set. When ever doing specialty sets I make sure to still take some neutral photos that would be perfect for wall art! I suggested a Float Wrap. They have a smooth finish and come mounted to a ready-to-hang block to create a natural drop shadow. A great alternative to Canvas Wraps!! Here are some ideas I came up with for displaying our favorite image from our Little Session today!

I can't wait to get this little guy in front of my camera again! I'll buy special lollipops just for him ;)
