Super Liam Is One!

January 10, 2014

PLN-16-0918-CM1a-580PLN-16-0918-CM1a-580 I had so much fun photographing Liam today! It was my first shoot of 2014 and a cake smash at that! We started with an in home session doing two outfits and the cake smash. Then ended at a local farm! With the warmer temperatures today photos with the farm animals were priceless! I got some great shots of little Liam helping Poppop feed the goats and petting George the Rooster.

[side note: I adore goats and now I'm pretty fond of roosters named George:)]

I can't wait for the whole family to see the images I captured today!

The Rabid's Crappy Christmas Gifts

December 11, 2013

Have you ever received a Christmas present that made you think to yourself... "are you freaking kidding me?" We've all been taught its the giving and not the receiving that counts. Well! Tommy and Melanie decided to use Horrible Gifts as their Christmas card theme this year!

These themed sessions have become a tradition that I look forward to every year! The weekend after Thanksgivng means to me.. time to plan Tommy and Mel's xmas cards!!! Check out their past photo sessions here.. 2011 and 2012

You can find 2013's full session here.. www.ferrarapics.com/rabidxmas13

Hello! Snyder Family!

December 08, 2013

This was my last portrait session of 2013! This was also the last portrait sneak peek that I'll be posting on Facebook.. ever.

As of 2014 I'll be posting all online photos or "sneak peeks" directly to our blog site! We're doing this for many MANY reasons, but the number one reason is as an artist my joy comes from seeing the emotion my art brings to the families and brides I photograph. I've gotten away from viewing the images with my clients and in a way I've started to take the fun out of it for me.. that's no good! I live for the "OMG's" and the laughing tears!

As of Spring 2014 Ferrara Photography will have a new home and a new way of doing things.

What will be new? For starters only what you order will be posted online to share with your friends and family. That's great for two reasons 1) only the photos you LOVE will be posted 2) they'll be retouched because you've already ordered them!. Another awesome change you can look forward to is... I'm going to hold your hand the whole way!

A note.. you'll still be able to find wedding day sneak peeks on Facebook. This is just for portraits!

Meet Molly's Little Sister!

August 10, 2013

Working with siblings in the past, I have learned to accommodate the needs of new, older siblings.  It is usual for the older sibling to have mixed emotions towards his or her new sibling.  With hopes of preventing these emotions I addressed Molly first and started a conversation to make her comfortable.  Not long after, she was ready to tell me all about her baby sister and how she was now a BIG sister.  Helping her feel less threatened and more involved with her little sister, Molly "helped" take pictures of her sister with her own camera.

Fun Fact: "When you learn conflict-resolution skills in the playroom, you then practice them on the playground, and that in turn stays with you. If you’re an older sibling and you have a younger sibling who needs mentoring or is afraid of the dark, you develop nurturing and empathetic skills that you would not otherwise have."

Sister Sunflower!

July 24, 2013

Her mom brought along a bouquet of fresh sunflowers to add to a few photos. The were the perfect addition to our portrait session!  The banner that you see in the top left and bottom right images was from this cute little store on the main road to Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware.  This location is my new favorite! I used it for this year's tea parties too!

Kate loves being photographed by Miss Nicole! As of June she has a new baby brother to be photographed with!!  Maybe we can convince mommy and daddy to get into a few shot next time!  Catch you guys next year!!

Fun Fact: Sunflowers first grew in North America more than 1,000 years ago and were an important food for Native Americans. People from other countries like Spain took some back to Europe with them, and now they are grown in many other countries as well
